Oh....em....GEEE!!!! I haven't read a graphic novel since high school but after picking this up I don't know why I ever stopped!!! Saga tells the story of 2 soldiers from opposite sides of the war who try to raise their newborn child all the while trying to escape from practically the whole galaxy that's after them. It was so fast-paced, sexy and an amazing read overall! This whole universe that the author and illustrator created is so imaginative and awesome! The story is great and has everything you could want! There's romance, action, adventure, and yes, even horror at times. I loved it and I just Can't wait to pick up the next one!!!

"Forgive me if I don't take relationship advice from a dead teenager missing her vagina" - this book contains my favorite quote of 2013. Simply cannot wait for the next volume to arrive!

Art was super cool but it seemed a little graphic at times for no reason. The story line seems pretty interesting so far.

A strong start to a sci fi series that I will definitely be continuing with. This first volume introduces the reader to a variety of characters and the political climate of the war, and I am excited to see what it will lead to. It was definitely grittier than I was expecting, and some of the dialogue felt like it was edgy for the sake of being edgy. Looking forward to reading the next instalment now that my expectations have been adjusted.

This was a reread for me and I still love it as much as I did the first time. Just such an amazing cast of characters and emotionally gripping narrative. Love this series so much and highly recommend all of it.

“Once upon a time, each of us was somebody's kid.

Everyone had a father, even if he never provided anything more than his seed.

Everyone had a mother, even if she had to leave us on a stranger's doorstep.

No matter how we're eventually raised, all of our stories begin the exact same way.

They all end the same, too.”

I picked this graphic novel up because I was in the mood for some good art. This one, though, had AMAZING illustrations. I told myself to only read a few issues—4 or 5 but I ended up reading til the 14th. The Saga universe is just so amazing and diverse and the whole thing delves into issues in very confident shades of art and prose. Like I could just outright feel the symbolism, the craptitude towards certain crappy stuff....... this is just so good.

Have I finally found a graphic novel series that I like?? Incredible. And for better or for worse, it's a loooooong series. Hopefully they stay good!
