"So maybe we just need to appreciate that many aspects of life-and the people we love-will always be a mystery. Because without mystery, there is no magic. And instead of constantly asking ourselves the question of why we're here, maybe we should be savoring a simpler truth: We are here."

As much as this book dispels many myths about death and dying, it’s more about grief. Clover’s strengths and weaknesses are incredibly accessible while being unique to her character. Loaded with wisdom and models of how to live a happy life (or not), it also helps to remind us of the realities of death and the personal journey through stages of grief.

A wholesome read that urges the reader to savor the life they have. I loved the relationships between Clover and her Grandfather and Claudia! It was SO sweet. ALSO HUGO are you kidding me? What a beautiful man.

Taking off one star for the existence of Sylvie in the story, I really could not stand her or her arc.
