Not as memorable as the others in the series. I really hope that's not a sign of what's to come . . .

I do enjoy the "Journal of Obi-Wan Kenobi" Obi-Wan is a great character and it's fun to see him gallivanting around Tataooine doing a terrible job of being inconspicuous. I also like young Luke. I love back story.

In the main storyline our crew steals the star destroyer Harbinger with the intent to deliver supplies to a beleaguered world. Other than the initial hijacking and a fun bit where Han and Leia race each other through the humongous ship to the captain's chair, it's not super exciting.

At this point everyone is still calling Luke "kid." It must be driving him up the wall. He had a hand in rescuing Princess Leia, blew up the Death Star, and been on several important missions already by this point. They allowed him to be a part of a skeleton crew that was to steal and pilot a Star Destroyer through an Imperial blockade. Also he's the same age as Leia! What does he have to do to get some respect? Anyway, rant aside . . .

This is a fun book in a great series. I hope the next one is meatier.

I guess I'll just come out and say it - I could not stand the art style in this volume. Everything else so far I have usually liked - the Journals of Obi Wan are not very much to my taste but they're tolerable. This volume was so bad that I just stopped reading and finishing it sort of felt like a chore.

A fun heist story with a little bit of G. I. Joe thrown in.

Interesting. I like how they are bringing back characters from earlier graphic novels and giving them more of a backstory. Makes it more fun for me to read.

A series of stories introducing Scar Squadron, the elite stormtroopers trying to bring the rebellion heroes down. The stories are unremarkable but the worldbuilding and some characterisation of the villains is the highlight. Altogether, a solidly entertaining story.

Meh. It’s probably my least favourite so far in the series. The drawing was the worst, it looks like caricatures.

Still not a fan of the Obi-Wan issues. And this one is really stretching it. It’s on the verge of diverging completely from what happened in the OT.

The small addition at the end was cute. Nothing amazing, but cute.

But in general I didn’t like this issue all that much. Kreel is fine as a villain, but the whole Task Force 99 thing is just the Bad Batch with stormtroopers. I could even tell which trooper corresponded to which clone. This is how similar they are.

This isn't the worst of the current Star Wars graphic novel series. The story stays focused on the action, with no distractions of tangential subplots. The artwork looks better than other volumes of this series have been. It's an unnecessary story, and I dislike cramming the space between the movies full of almost-encounters between Luke and Vader, because that takes away the power of their movie confrontations.

Well, if I keep writing, I'll end up not liking this book at all, so I'll just stop here.
