We continue the Briggs arc, and Olivier cements herself as a badass. We get the Elric Bros making connections, and Hohenheim's backstory. So, good stuff, but I admit, I wasn't as invested in this volume, probably because the brothers aren't a focus.

I will say, I'm excited for volume eighteen. It's where I fell off of keeping up with FMA, so I'm less familiar with the story beats (tho I think I read until the equivalent of volume nineteen so twenty will truly be a MYSTERY)

Another average volume heavy on exposition. The events in vol 17 feel more impactful than 16 but the new characters and new setting are still being introduced and I don’t care too much about them right now. Not bad but this still felt like a filler episode and set up for what’s to come.
