Oh my god?!?
I enjoyed reading the first book more but holy shit I still loved this one so much.  
I mostly was less convinced by all the philosophising this time. That was the part that really got me into the first book. But now I got into the character dynamics and the chaos of it all. I also actually like some of the characters now and considering they're all designed to be assholes that's an accomplishment. And I was rewarded in my favourite shipping!! I didn't dare to hope for it because so many characters are set up to potentially have some romantic and/or sexual relationship. 
Honestly, their relationship dynamics were all over the place and I was here for it.

to the untrained eye, i am sitting in my bed with this book shut next to me after finishing it, but if you look really closely, i am actually rioting and screaming at a pitch unavailable to human ears (positive) . please finish this trilogy olivie blake my life… depends on it.

like i have some other things to say but i’m going mad rn so i’m going to keep them inside for right now.

Second installment of the Atlas Six series. I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The characters are still deeply flawed, the academia is still dark, and as the book progressed, unlikely alliances were revealed between the six “students”. The ultimate, and possibly nefarious, plans and motivations of the leader(s) of the Alexandrian Society are slowly being revealed. I’m looking forward to the third book, releasing next year!

The Atlas Paradox is a good second book in the trilogy. It does, however, start slow and I would give it at least 100 pages before it really picks up and hooks you in. After that, however, I fell in love with the characters all over again. 

What I love about this book was how much it delved into the very humanness of all the characters. While in the first book the characters were exploring their awesome powers, in Atlas Paradox, they know the extent of their awesome powers and have to grapple with what that means as human beings in the world. And, for all their powers, they find they are still bound by their very human traumas, follies and trials. 

Overall, I am still really enjoying this series. If you liked the first, then this is a must read. If you were meh about the characters in the first book, this might not be for you, but it definitely gives them more humanity, which some, I hear, felt was lacking in the first book.
