A bit too fast paced for my liking, which meant I got confused at times. Amazing story though.

It's books like this that make it evermore apparent that an American "education" is incomplete at best. I didn't know 95% of the events Satrapi described, yet she presented her story in great detail, but in a way that was easy to follow and understand. She is a wonderful storyteller and provides rich details. And her artwork is both simple and evocative. I really enjoyed this graphic novel collection!

This book is beautiful, sad and haunting, it is so much more than a memoir of one single person and in fact a memoir of a gender, of a generation, and it is both inspiring and scary to see how much this person overcame in her lifetime and how much she fought and how far she came despite all the challenges she faced. I can't say much about this, I don't feel well equipped to, just, please, read this book if you're reading this, it will change your life.

this was a really easy to read and insightful novel. I don't know much Iranian history, so I learnt a lot about this.

Gosh darn, this book is hecking good. It's as informative as it is emotional, and it's absolutely heart-breaking in places. I would go so far as to say it's essential reading.
