what a sad, sad book. told in such an interesting and compelling way. the exploration of grief, loss, tragedy, the way we act when we have to endure the unimaginable, the monstrousness of us and of what we are capable of in our saddest and hardest moments, oh this was just. so good. excellent excellent stuff. made me extremely sad.

This was an interesting read.
It had a unique form of storytelling where we get four points of view, but rather than jumping around (which I’m more accustomed to), each POV starts and finishes then moves to the next POV which tells then next part of the story.
I found the overall concept intriguing, and while I generally have a positive impression of this book, I didn’t strongly enjoy it.
Despite some elements of horror, and moments here and there that made me (softly) gasp, I overall feel a little flat about it.
That being said it was a fairly quick read and I would still recommend it if the premise sounds interesting to you. I just wasn’t as blown away as I was expecting going into it.
