This book kept me enthralled all the way through. It’s surprising and genre-bending. I did not expect to fall in love with the characters the way I did. They surprise you. They resonate with parts of you. The good and the ugly. This book is a beautiful depiction of a grieving family—heart wrenching for sure.

It's been a long time since I read a book with characters that felt so rich, complex, and--in the most human of ways--unknowable. To read this book is to be woven into a twisting and densely patterned tapestry. I felt each character so deeply.

I'm honestly not sure how to feel about this one. It kept me reading, but it also had me wondering if I should keep reading. Reviews stating the description is inaccurate, I would tend to agree with to a point. The sexual themes here were unexpected. I wasn't sure I felt much for the characters, beyond the first section of the book, as most seemed so detached. I need to keep thinking about this one...which I guess means it wasn't terrible, right?
