Unlike anything I’ve read in terms of historical period/setting/focus. I loved the pacing of this book. I normally can’t read things in one sitting but I devoured the second half of this on the flight home from Rome and didn’t get tired of it one bit. I love that it was told from B’s point of view without you even realizing it thanks to N’s journals, and I loved the causal bisexual representation! So heartfelt and so human, so delicately and artfully done

Euphoria is hands down one of my favorite novels. King's ability to set the environment is flawless, the setting is lush and exotic without being unimaginably or distractingly foreign. Her depiction of the complex relationships between our main characters is consistently compelling. The ending, one of the most heart-breaking things that I have ever read.
I will never not recommend this book to every person that I can. It is an important story, loosely inspired by the life of 20th century anthropologist Margaret Mead, and a magnificently told one.

Definitely an interesting read but I found it hard to connect with the characters (perhaps due to listening to the audiobook).
