I was strangely captivated by this story. Was it dark and twisted? Very much so. The sex scenes were rough - my first experience of reading CNC - and I didn't find them particularly erotic or steamy. I'm not sure what made this work for me, but I think the coming together of two damaged souls resulted in a very poignant romance with lots of feels.

I started this with the best intentions and admittedly around the 60% marker, I skim read the rest.
The plot should have guaranteed this book 5 stars but for the amount of things happening it felt quite rushed. This was only exacerbated by the fact that the book covers a few months of activity. The content didn’t give much space to process the time frame things were happening in and left it feeling a bit distorted.

Great storyline. Dark but exciting. I couldn’t put this down. I don’t think Jade West can write a bad book!
I liked it, but didn't love it. It dragged on in places. I would not recommend it to anyone that doesn't like CNC.
