After really enjoying the naughty list, I was eager to give another jade west book a try. Bait was overall a good read, the characters were okay and i liked how everything was clearly consensual. However, it dragged a bit and got repetitive in the middle of the book and the whole “Phoenix rising from the ashes thing” made me cringe every time I read it. I also don’t know how I feel about the ex being mentioned on almost every page. Also, the mix of English and American wording and phrases confused me a bit. Herefordshire is mentioned, but then things like “he circled the block”, which just don’t fit together well and make it difficult to set the scene. However, the story line, plot twist (although minor) was really good and I did enjoy it. I will be checking out more of Jade’s books.

I think this was my first Jade west book but it definitely won’t be my last! This book was so good!!! I was sad for it to end. I wanted to fight Serena for playing both sides like damn girl pick a side and stick to it.

i think i need to stop listening to obscure booktok recs lol

also conversations start, questions are asked, mc has internal monologue, then conversation moves on? like hello? continuation issues much?

So good loved it

So. Incredibly. Amazing.

This was definitely not my first Jade West book, but it felt like it was. Almost from the first page, the vibe of this one was different from her others. Deeper, more visceral. I couldn't put the story down. I loved reading about Abigail and Leo. Their growth felt so natural. So fitting because I feel like, as I've read all of Jade West's books, she's grown as an author. I highly recommend this book!
