So... Definitely check triggers haha but the story is more than just spice. Watching these two grow and heal and redefine themselves was everything. Leo was my favourite for sure, definitely up there as one of my favs MMC even!
I read this entire book in 6 hours. Stayed up all night to devour the entire thing i couldn’t take my eyes off it. I’ve never found a book which executed the exact feelings and emotions that hit personally and made me feel less alone in my own complicated mess of emotions.
The writing was beautiful and unlike anything i have ever seen. The characters were beautifully flawed and complicated in a way that makes Jade West an automatic buy no matter if she publishes
a cook book or a sloppy piece of poetry.
The love the main characters had for eachother were bleeding out from the pages and i could feel the love and imagine it without them even being real.
I have hundreds of dark romance books on my shelf and have read tons and tons, but none of them have ever made me actually consider taking a break for my own mental wellbeing because of how deeply the writing made me feel. How it made me feel the characters sadness like it was my own.
This book is 10/10 hands down the best book i will read in 2024 and i don’t even have to read anything else to know that to be true.
A literary masterpiece.

This book left me wondering if I have a primal kink that I was previous unaware of, or if I just have a kink for men who are careful with a woman who isn't very careful with herself. Either way, both the spice and the emotional impact just worked for me. And Leo can chase me through an industrial yard any day.
That being said, this book isn't for everyone. The writing is overdramatic at times. (Okay...a lot of the time.) When the protagonists start talking online, it reads a lot like two emo teens quoting AFI lyrics back and forth on AOL Instant Messenger circa 2001. Parts of the story are certainly unhinged, but that's half the fun.

I really wanted to like this book. I personally could not get into it. Could have DNF it but I’ve never DNF a book before so now I can’t😅
