The last chapter of the Tombquest saga, this promises the final battle between good and evil, life and death. But with Alex and his friends and family in the hands of The Order and an army of the dead advancing on civilization, the hope of success is very low.

Okay, this didn't hold up to the rest of the books for a couple of reasons. One, it had some editing problems. When my reading partner, who is the approximate age this series is geared at, was picking up on editing missteps, that was a red flag. Secondly, it felt overwhelmingly rushed towards the finale and then, it just happened. Like all this buildup and then it was just over. It did tie up the ends very well, but it fell a bit flat for the end of a series.

Now, with that said, I enjoyed parts immensely. Like, I loved the part where they were trying to distract the crocodiles, it was fun. I also liked when it came to the ultimate decision. And, they brought back my favorite character! Oh yeah!

I enjoyed the wrap-up of the saga and am trying to get my reader into another series cause it was fun partner reading. This was an engaging read that will be a great introduction to young readers to ancient myths of other cultures, spark that interest.

I think I just wasn't in the mood for the last one already. Found it boring. Good cute series overall. Quick and easy to read.

Unfortunately, the scene shown on the cover never actually happens. They do meet Anubis, but not like that.

Going to give this entire series a 3/5. Overall, it was good. It didn't wow me, it didn't shock me, I didn't love it, but I enjoyed my time reading it. The Egyptian mythology references were pretty awesome seeing as how that's what I took in school - but it still wasn't enough to be the best series I've ever read. Still, I'm glad I read it.

The Final Kingdom by Michael Northrop is the conclusion to the TombQuest series. Alex and Ren are back in Egypt for the final show down. Things are pretty desperate with the The Order turning themselves into Death Walkers and stone warriors. Alex also has to contend with the fact that he's the rope in a tug of war between his mother and father.
