Elizathbeth grew up in a library where books have a distinct personalities and sorcery is bad. With echos of other familiar stories Sorcery of Thorns has a style that feels classic and refreshing. I found myself longing to return to the library. Margaret Rogerson combined all elements to make an adventurous story-line that traps you into wanting more than getting it and trapping you all over again. This is precisely the kind of reading experience I crave from YA.
The characters were witty and enjoyable to read about. Elizabeth herself takes matters in to her own hands showing her resourcefulness, cunning, courage, and intelligence. And though Nathaniel was powerful with magic he also showed weakness and flaws. The romance they show is slow burning and not easily put together.
I would love to have a sequel to this.

It took until the final 40% of the novel for it to really win me over, but I'm glad I stuck with it. And I really wish it was part of a series. I need more adventures from Elizabeth, Nathaniel and "Sir Fluffington."
