I don't know what Atwood was aiming for with this book. Originally a e-book serial, I had the feeling she started off with a good hook, a catchy opener, but then lost interest or steam as the story unfolded over several months. It's a darkly comic, dystopian sex caper? But the tone doesn't always mesh. It's a messy book. Certainly not for people who have never read Atwood before. Unless you're a die-hard Atwood fan, willing to stand by her missteps, avoid.

The concept was interesting, but it wasn’t very entertaining for me. I would recommend for any fans of Atwood, but it just didn’t hit the spot for me this time.
