I loved this story, even if it did make me cry!
A widower has just lost her husband who was found in a car wreck with a mysterious other woman. Refusing to accept that her husband even knew this other woman, Ellie sets off to find out the truth. One way or the other, she needs to know. Pretty soon she's written off as grieving and in denial to all of her nearest. 'Poor Ellie can't accept that her husband was having an affair'. It follows her through her suspicions and leads her into some pretty wild situations. This is a super suspenseful read, I was eating it up and couldn't rest until I knew how it ended!

DID NOT FINISH: 61%

I DNF this book. I was 61% through and could not see any reason to continue. In lieu of actual suspense and mystery, this book is just a series of the drawn out events in the life of a recent widow. This may be my first and last Nicci French book.

The reconstruction of events in the final pages helps the reader put the pieces together. This is a good psychological thriller however the suspense created throughout the whole book makes it difficult to solve the dilemma without disappointing.
