Honestly I just couldn't get over how Wolf treated Fawn. If it had just been hot and cold, or just on the more controlling side it would have been one thing, but to me he was borderline (if not actually) abusive to her. I was already on the fence when he forced he to kneel and let him do as he pleased just because he didn't like how she behaved at a party. The moment I was fully done with him was after they slept together when he choked her because she touched his scars. On top of that he could not seem to understand that she may not want anything to do with him. I was done with her when she seemed to forgive him just because his mom showed up, and he was willing to get her a couch bus for a two hour drive. I really wanted to like this book. The clips from TikTok made it see like such an interesting read, but I just can't deal with the dynamic between these two.

There’s something so satisfying about a book that hooks you before you’ve even hit page 75—and Eat You Alive had me locked in immediately. Eden O’Neill doesn't drag her feet. She throws you straight into the fire, and trust me, it burns real good.

Let’s get into it—Ole Wolfy is a walking red flag, and I adored every unhinged, possessive, obsessive second of him. He’s dangerously in love, even if he won’t admit it and insists it’s just "deep infatuation" (sure, babe). This man does not know how to feel in moderation, and that's exactly why I devoured this book.

And man… what is this secret Wolf is holding onto so strongly? Because whatever it is, it’s driving a wedge between him and the truth—and I need to know.

The tension? Unmatched. The romance? Twisted perfection. The plot? Fast, angsty, and full of sharp turns.

Tropes you’ll devour:

- Fake Relationship – But the feelings? Very real.
- Obsessive MMC – The kind that watches, waits, and claims.
- Touch Her and Die – Classic Wolf.
- Possessive Alpha – Mine. Period.
- Morally Gray Everything – There are no clean hands in this story.
- Enemies to Lovers – The hatred? Hot. The tension? Unbearable.
- Forced Proximity – There’s no escaping each other. And we love that.
- Bully Romance – He was cruel, but it always meant something more.

Though I enjoyed this one, I was kind of let down a bit. I'm also confused cause I thought this was a dark romance but it's not really *giving* dark romance. The author doesn't state it is in any of the TWs or the blurbs but she's on/off with it on her Instagram marketing...but I'll just treat this like it's not.

Ares aka Wolf, blackmails Fawn to be his fake girlfriend for his *ulterior motives* and is also supposed to torment her for "ruining" his junior year in high school now that they're reunited in college. But I don't think that lasted too long. There was a good push and pull hate to love that I enjoyed. Fawn wasn't a doormat! But eh could've done better with the enemies to lovers deal.

If anything I was expecting Ares to be more unhinged obsessed with Fawn but he's just obsessed. Besides some stuff at the beginning, he wasn't going out of his way to *have* her. After the first part it basically turned as wholesome as it could for bully romance. Especially his motivations, which in the end, felt a tiny bit flimsy for all he did to her? I guess that's the *sick in the head* dark romance I was looking for?? 😅

But Ares was still an enjoyable character despite being an ass, he's sweet. His gestures towards Fawn made me kick my feet and giggle. I loved how protective and possessive he was that he became a feral beast or should I say...a wolf? 🤭

I liked Fawn a lot though! She's not a doormat. She was our plus size queen. I liked that she truly loved herself and wasn't insecure about how she looked. Though it can be a journey for body positivity/acceptance, I was tired of reading books with plus size reps where they were insecure, fatphobic, and hated themselves. Fawn wasn't like that. She's pretty much accepted and a realist if she ever was being a naysayer about herself (rare though).

Another negative for me: sometimes the writing style was iffy. There were awkward sounding sentences I had to reread a few times and very noticeable typos. I usually let them slide until they're like glaring 😅

But still, I liked reading this book. It was entertaining and I'll see it to the end! 🫡
