I received a copy of this manga through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This manga is actually a part of a manga duology with one in the narration of Belle and one in the narration if the Beast. This is the story of Belle.

(First of all, thank you NetGalley and Publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion)

Starting with the fact that my favorite Disney film is Beauty and the Beast is hard for me to not love anything related to it. So, of course, I love reading this manga. I read Beast's Tale and I enjoy the story told again by Belle's POV. In Beast's Tale, I love the Beast draw (more than Belle) but now I think I love both of them. The story and the ARC of this manga are about the Disney live-action plot. I love more the animation, though. Maybe I would try to make another version, not related to any of the movies, but still, I will always love all Beauty and the Beast adaptations.

Follows the movie very closely, so no complaints as I love the movie.

It’s a cute, quick read!

The artwork is beautiful, but the text is lacking. It felt like some things were skipped over in odd ways. I still enjoyed it, though.

Just a fun little read about beauty and the beast.

I want to start this review with saying that I really enjoyed the art, it was beautiful and very well made. The colors were pretty and really portrayed the mood of the story.

Sadly I wasn’t a big fan of the story. I love Beauty & the Beast and it has been a favorite of mine since I was small but according to me this manga felt a bit stressed. The story jumped from one scene to another which at times got very confusing, I also feel like some more details could’ve been added to the story for a newer reading experience.

Was it worth reading? Yes. I liked it but it didn’t give me the same whimsical feeling that this story usually does.

Thanks to NetGalley for this review copy. Even though this book was given to me for free the opinions in this review are wholly mine.

A beautiful full-color Beauty and the Beast manga!

I actually really loved that this story followed the live-action film rather than the animated film. It was a refreshing change. The one thing that I found a bit disappointing was how the story was pieced together. There were places it felt a little disjointed or lacking, like it skipped to a new scene before it should have.

Overall, a wonderful story for anyone that loves Beauty and the Beast!

Huge thank you to Disney Manga/TokyoPop via NetGalley for the e-ARC to read and honestly review.

description

This manga followed the live-action movie of a few years ago very closely. But perhaps the relationship and plot progression was a bit abrupt and could prove confusing for people not already familiar with the story.

As a 90's kid the original animated movie and it's drawing style holds a special place in my heart, but I still very much enjoyed this new re-imagining and redesign with more anime-inspired illustrations. However I must say a few of the vignettes were a little lazy, with no background aside from a gradient and blurry, undetailed images.

The coloring chosen for this manga, bright and in pastel tones, really managed to depict the warmth and optimism that are so characteristic of Belle.

All in all, I think this would appeal to all Disney lovers be them young or old.
