This book is in full color and absolutely beautiful it follows the live action movie. I had to re watch the movie afterwards and loved both the movie and manga. They also made the beast’s tale which is my next read.

A neat visual depiction of the classical “Beauty and the Beast” story told from Belle’s point of view! The pages are in warm and cold colors which perfectly depict the personalities of the two main characters. Eventhough there are 160 pages of manga, they are easy to read and the story sticks as much as possible to the original story.

Special thanks to NetGalley, TOKYOPOP, Disney Manga, and the author for giving me the opportunity to review the ARC, and to you, my reader, for taking the time to read this honest personal book review.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my all-time favourite fairytales so there's no doubt I love the story, regardless of adaptation. It's my first time seeing it in manga though so this was an interesting and enjoyable read.

The flow was a bit confusing for me: Sometimes you have to read left to right (the speech bubbles), sometimes you have to read right to left (the panels and speech bubbles).

I also feel like the artwork had a lot of potential but left quite a bit to be desired. The illustrations and colours are beautiful, but somehow turned out looking blurry and low-res. Not sure if it's because of the format but I hope the actual book will look as beautiful as it should, or it would be such a shame. I did like the shojo style and use of brighter tones to depict how Belle views the world though.

Thank you to Netgalley, Tokyopop and Disney Manga for an ARC of this book.

Disney Manga: Belle's Tale was based on the live action movie instead of the animation that came out in 1991.

I really love the manga illustration for this beauty and the beast and seeing it from Belle's POV. The color of the art is bright and beautiful which portrayed Belle's character in the story.

Although, the flow of the story sometimes confuse me. Manga was supposed to be read from right to left just like the instruction on how to read the book. However, there are some parts in the story makes more sense when I read it from left to right.

Also I saw some words weren't translated in English. But, there wasn't many of them so I could still easily enjoy the book.

Overall, this is a wonderful and beautiful manga illustration of beauty and the beast.
I'm looking forward to seeing the other book from Beast's POV!

If you want to pick this up make sure to pick up the Beast's Tale too in order to read the full story of this fairytale.

Thank you to Netgalley, Mallory Reaves and TOKYOPOP for granting me this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Telling the story of the Beauty and the Beast from the two different point of views of the main characters - I find the idea exciting. The two books work pretty well together, and not only because the cover pages complement each other and make up one image.

The colour palette, the dynamics, they all reflect the different personalities of Belle and the Beast, and you'll have to read both stories to get the whole picture. The visuals are strong, with a telling style, but I felt the dialogues clumsy here and there.

There is a useful tip at the end of the books on how to read manga (from right to left, from top to bottom, like Japanese writing), which would have been good to know prior to reading the stories. Well, we learn as long as we live...

Many thanks to NetGalley and Disney Manga / Tokyopop for this Advance Review Copy.

My only wish was that this wasn’t a comic book type book and it was! It was good and short and literally got to the point, but felt like if it was an actual books that it would of been better!

The other night I needed a light read after finishing a book that was on the scarier side, so I randomly found that Disney has a bunch of Manga on Kindle Unlimited and decided to give this one a try. It’s based on the live action 2017 film, and it was such a comfort. The illustrations were ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL and deserve five stars all on their own!! The story was familiar, but also included more insights into Belle’s thoughts and feelings about her life and time in the castle. I’m still very new to Manga and I think if you are too, this would be a great place to start because it is a familiar story with familiar characters. I just can’t say enough about how GORGEOUS everything was and will probably end up ordering this and the companion because they are breathtaking!!

My rating: 3.5/5 stars

Ahh.. this was beautiful. This was my first ever Manga read and I didn't knew this before picking this up. Obviously I didn't knew beforehand about manga so I had some trouble reading it at first. But after some research, I was on track, and oh boy it was exactly as the movie (minus songs and detailed graphics). I would strongly recommend to read this only if you have watched the Disney's new Beauty and the Beast movie (released in 2017), otherwise you might miss the charm of it.

The story is the classic beauty and the beast so nothing new at that front. This is a two books series. This book is from the Belle's POV while the other is from Beast's POV (which I am still to read). It was refreshing to read the story through Belle's mind.

The illustrations in the book were beautiful. They were so close to the movie. I liked the illustrated beast very much and the library was beautiful. There were some illustrations that were not much clear. Some scenes just jumped to other, which is difficult to understand if you haven't already watched the movie. But most of the art is good. This was a quick read and I finished it in just an hour.

"Happily ever after" is a story, itself.
It's a choice, everyday, to be the best person you can be.
To turn your anger into passion.... To bring change, not destruction.
To find beauty in love and understanding...
...And to find "Home"... wherever you go.

I highly recommend it to all the Beauty and the Beast lovers out there :)
