I was both skeptical and nervous about starting The Midnight Library when I saw the first page was a quote from Sylvia Plath.

However, those feelings were quickly dispelled as Haig has an uncanny ability to cover difficult topics with a sense of comfort and hopefulness.

I don’t think the book would be for everyone, and is particularly suited to a particular mindset. But I sense Haig intended it to be read in a state of change, similar to the one I currently find myself in so I was wholly immersed.

He may be one of the few people who force me to break my ‘No Male Authors’ rule.
