I really liked the characters especially Henry and how he was and interacted with Evelyn. He is as overprotective as he is passionate. This book want soo quick, I was flying through it.

The cliffhanger!!! Next book please, I need to know! I would recommend this book.

This is my first Jeana E. Mann book and let me tell you people, this is such a good book to start my journey into her worlds. I'm a sucker for a good marriage of convenience story, and I also love stories where a character pursues someone because they're related to their biggest enemy. So I knew from the start that I was going to enjoy this book. I am happy to say I was very right.

This book was one of those "sees cover, falls in love, speed reads the blurb and decide to read without thinking things through" for me. Because I cannot talk about this book without mentioning the cover. I know I have a weakness for pretty covers, but this one is just fantastic. And if by any chance you look for the sequel, the cover is equally gorgeous.

Everly is a woman trapped in dangerous situation. When we first meet her she has this mysterious quality about her. She presented herself as someone very cultured, who knows how to have fun, confident, brave. Then we meet the actual her, and we see that on top of that she's hurt, someone that finds it hard to trust men. Men in her life have the habit of breaking her trust and her heart, and it's quite sad to witness. I liked Everly, I liked that ultimately she found the courage to stand up for herself, to cut ties with her parents even though it must have been a very hard choice. I can't wait to see what will happen with her and Henry in the next book, but I have high hopes. Especially after the way things were left for her.

Henry, or Prince Heinrich, was a delight to read about. He has a lot of secrets, and I can't help but wonder about them. He reveals very little about himself, even during the chapters told from his perspective. It was interesting to read about this story from his POV because of that. He likes to dominate, but he's not domineering. I hope the next book will reveal more about him, all of his secrets, because I truly was captivated by him.

The chemistry between these two characters is amazing. I loved seeing them interact as strangers, and I loved seeing them interact once they knew who the other one was. I liked seeing Everly and Henry together. The cliffhanger was expected, but it still shocked me. Not because it was dramatic or anything, but because it felt almost like the ending scene to a two-part TV show episode, and I loved that so much.

I also loved the writing style. The voices of Henry and Everly were different, so I found it very easy to go from one POV to the other. I also loved when the shifts happened. I didn't like one of the secondary characters, Nicky, at all, and I hope he receives some big punishment for his general behavior in the second book.

All in all, I really enjoyed reading this book and I cannot wait to see what comes next.
