Definitely my favourite Austen. I like the way Austen shows more juvenile attitudes towards relationships (both Anne when younger and Louisa in the present day) along with more mature ones, but without judgement. I also liked the inclusion of the relationship between Mary and her husband. Second chances aren’t always given, but are enjoyed when they are offered.

I get it. No, I get it now. I get it why Jane Austen was and is still studied about, like such a good writer. She frames the scenes perfectly like, yes her writing does need getting used to—you really need to pay attention to the structures of sentences, but she can ultimately make you feel like you’re there (now ik why most of her novels have been turned into movies/shows). Very admirable character plotting, the personality of each character felt real like they are an actual person that you can just speak to, cause most of the personalities are probably taken from actual people (I say this because sometimes characters feel 2d and were clearly written just to add certain stuff to the story). Certain “jokes” were probably made popular because of this book cause I will sometimes catch myself cackling at some lines. Okay, slowburn much ⁉️ Well not really 😓 but I was kicking my feet and giggling during the last 2 chapters 😛 First Austen book, will not be the last!
