Remarkably Bright Creatures includes the most beautiful displays of 'found family' (and finding 'lost' family), of kindness, resilience and the courage to keep going. The story is so beautiful and is equally complimented by the writing which is exquisite. I honestly could not wait to pick this book up after work for the last couple of evenings, a heart touching story which will stay with me - and also has increased my appreciation for octopuses! Highly recommend and a fantastic debut by Shelby Van Pelt (couldn't believe it!) - will definitely pick up the next without hesitation!

I want Tova Sullivan to be my grandmother. She is sweet and stubborn and just so delightfully herself.
I would *exclusively* shop at Ethan Mack’s grocery market, just to interact with him (his character is an underrated favorite!).
Cameron Cassmore is the perfect ‘rough-around-the-edges/tough guy’ character that is processing his childhood trauma and grows so much through the story arc.
I can’t leave out mischievous Marcellus the Giant Pacific Octopus, who is the star of the story! His voice actor so perfectly represented every snarky thought and bored comment that Van Pelt wrote for him.
All in all, this was a really good listening experience!
