It took me an absurdly long time to read what should have been a page turner - I’m not sure if it was just my life being too chaotic, or my habit of reading multiple books at once, but I got stuck a couple of times while reading this and I think it would have been better if I’d actually committed to reading it in a shorter time? Also my library doesn’t have the audiobook which kinda sucked.
Anyway love the twists and turns and love how Kaz is always several steps ahead of literally everyone else. The Kaz/Inej chemistry was off the charts and if there’s one thing I love it’s a romance where next to nothing happens except the longing and the pining!!!!!! I’ll miss reading about this gang, it’s been a fun ride.

I cried. I am telling you this is a masterpiece!! My favourite book out of the duology. After reading Six Of Crows I thought, "Nah. You can't do any better than this." And I was proved wrong.
The pace was fierce and had me on my toes.
The character development is perfect and beautiful. In this book, we see some of our favourite characters from the Shadow and Bone trilogy come back and two of my favourite characters interact for half of a chapter!!!!
Mathias's redemption arc is the best I have seen since Zuko from ATLA and Kazzles gradual understanding of his feelings towards Inej-? Ahhhh.... Feels.
I'm sad that the duology ended but I'm saddest about the fact that I can't read the duology for the first time again.
Oh well..... Now excuse me while I go cry in a corner.
