Twists and turns, highs and lows, love and loss, adventure and mystery. I loved this series. Always kept you guessing and a play within a play. All the characters had development and the story was well paced. The language created the world of Ketterdam in your living room. I will miss the dodgy bunch. Good thing they live on my shelf.

"He lost the shape of who he was-no, he lost the shape of who he'd fought to become"
The job at the ice palace was complete, but it had definitely not gone off without a hitch. Now Kaz and the team had another job to do, rescue Inej, take down Van Eck, and get the money their owed. But nothing is easy in Ketterdam, and the team has to take greater risks, ones that they might not all walk back from.
This book was just as amazing as the first book in the duology. We got more insight into each of the characters, and got to learn more of their past and what they hope for the future. I really enjoyed the addition of Wylans pov and his struggle to come to grips with the man his father actually is. The rest of the team is dealing with everything they went through to get Kuwei, but also the increasing hostility of Ketterdam. Nothing is easy, but it's all worth it to save the city this band of misfits has come to known as home, and the friends that have become their family.

I liked this duology best out of the Grishaverse.
wish we would have got the romance we all really wanted.
feels like there is so much more to be said with these characters.
LB does not linger enough when she unalives characters or makes a big reveal - this is such a disappointment

Overall I just did not really enjoy this series. There were a lot of ramblings and so many stories to keep track of that I got bored. On a positive note, the author broached uncomfortable topics really well without making the book so heavy it could not be considered YA.
The second book of the Six of Crows series. If you watched the Shadow and Bone series on Netflix then you have met the main characters in this series. They are wonderful characters. In the books they are teenagers, in the Netflix series they come across as mid to late twenties. So some might consider this a YA story. I just consider it very good.
Ms Bardugo has presented herself as a master of the twist and turn of a story. Not sure exactly where Kaz got to on the plan scale but i would say mid alphabet minimum. Plan L or M easily.
A lot of this and the first book are woven into the Netflix series where these are actually standalone books. I am glad they are as it gives the characters the chance to grow and not take second stage to the Shadow and Bone characters who are great in their own right.
I am hoping that somewhere along the line there will be more books with these characters though based on how this ended it does not appear there will be. I will keep hoping.
Great set of books, great characters, great action. Go get them and thank me later.

Let's all bow for Miss Leigh Bardugo for giving us such a great book with marvellous characters and story line. And for not stretching the book for extra parts that may spoil the whole story.
I honestly can't express my feelings right now. I'm in awe, totally speechless.
That ending *sniff*
I honestly hate open ending books, but in this one I literally died. Totally in love how this book ended, giving us the space in our minds and hearts to finish as we like or hope.
The mighty Kaz Brekker finally facing his demons, his fears and his future. Will he has one with Inej or will he still be trapped in the past. That what this book is all about. The characters, all of them facing their fears, their past and their future.
Even though we lost one of the main in the characters and that really killed me because I got so attached to this character and loved the its role in shaping the story but now I can see how that death shaped another character's future.
Now I demand a separate novel that belongs only to Kaz and Inej <3
