Wow, so I think there's a chance I loved this more than Six of Crows. I am NOT OKAY with Matthias being killed?? I needed him reunited with his wolf, not dead so it's accurate his wolf is off in the northern woods alone 😭 I feel like Nina's story was not wrapped up because of this too, the last we see of them is just floating away dead or fake dead?

As much as I would read more about these characters forever, I'm satisfied with how things ended with Inej and Kaz. They are both getting what they wanted and finding a way to still kind of do it together. Yes I was sobbing when he showed her the boat and her parents AND held her hand ungloved. If that doesn't say I Love You, idk what else would.

Wylan and Jesper both had slightly open-ended but straightforward endings, I can see where things go with them and I'm happy about that too.

Idk. At first I thought this book wouldn't be as good because it was just plans continually being blundered and no clear goal to me. But I actually ended up really enjoying it. I also loved how Bardugo gave each of them (or most of them?) a moment where they thought of the other 5 and the strengths each of them had. It was cute and I love their little family

I think I'm done now. I'm happy and I'm sad and I want more!!

Edit to add: also with Nina, I think we did not get a clear answer about what the parem did to her powers. I'm hoping the King of Scars duology might offer more insight since it takes place after these? Even if there's more information in passing to better understand what happened I'd appreciate it lolol

WOWOWOWOWOW I LOVED THIS BOOK/DUOLOGY.

I loved the characters and I loved the twists and turns. You think one thing has happened, but Kaz literally prepares for everything and proves you wrong.

I truly thing Leigh Bardugo is one of my favorite authors. Holy cow.

um what the frick did i just read???

Not as engaging as Six of Crows, but still so so good. I love these characters, I love their stories, and putting them all together creates perfection. I love this world that Leigh Bardugo has created and I’d read any book set in it.
