Convoluted as all hell but it was okay getting there and kept me engaged while driving. Audio reading is very noir-ish (even though protagonist is not a gumshoe,) and that was a tad monotonous to me.

I read and loved The Woods years ago but I'm mostly familiar with Coben through the Netflix adaptations and this story didn't measure up...but that could be because the Netflix versions have Richard Armitage!

2⭐️ I finished this in one sitting because I was driving and busy cleaning. I did enjoy it and the plot, until it became super complicated but also predictable at the end (I hope this makes sense!) I’ve always wanted to read this author’s books because lots have been made into TV shows which I love, but this wasn’t it for me, maybe it would be different for the others! I feel like it had such good potential but felt like maybe it was rushed and it just put the greatness of it out of the window
