Firstly the narrator has the perfect voice for this story. As to the book. I read all the books as a child and loved them. Coming back as an adult the story was the one I remembered but I’d forgotten how naive and old fashioned in style the book was. In the dedication C S Lewis says he’s writing a fairy tale and in style the book is much more like a fairy tale than a modern style fantasy. Also very British and very sexist. Still an enjoyable read though.
Re-read a childhood classic (since Lewis says “one day you will be old enough to read fairy tales again”); only took about 1.5h! Just as magical as I remembered it.
