Revisiting this classic as a read aloud with my son. Its a wonderful example of a plot driven book. If you have an early reader who can't hold attention long enough for a story to unfold, this is the perfect book. Within chapter 1, mystery, magic and wonder is rapidly unfolding!

I’m not a massive fan of the narration of this book. It just doesn’t do it for me but it seems to be a popular style for a lot of the older kids books.
I like the plot but felt it was all a bit rushed and no tea details were give about the queen which I found disappointing
