I probably would have thought much more highly of this book as a kid, but reading it for the first time as an adult, it bored me. It's certainly something I'd like to have my future children read while they're still young enough to think it's amazing, but it's definitely not one of those children's-books-read-too-late that still carries all the weight and soul-touching that so many of them can do. This fact surprised me, really, considering all the hype and history surrounding the series, but to each her own, I suppose.
