A surprisingly gorgeous novelization of the film which adds as much as it enhances, and builds as much as it deconstructs. I fucking love this book.
A damn good novelization, especially because it lent a lot of weight to the destruction of Jedha and really made some of the emotional decisions in the movie make a lot more sense. Reminded me that there are some things that only books can do.
There are a few gifs that can describe my feelings about rogue one, both the book and movie. For example, just search “crying” in any gif keyboard.
It’s hard to follow up such a fantastic movie with a novelization, but the expanded moments that provided depth to character motivations and feelings really worked. Sometimes a little painfully.
Also, I’m having some thoughts about the way the force works and settles around even those that aren’t sensitive to it. Like the line about how Jyn Erso shines [in the force]. Maybe one day I’ll be able to put that into words.

I know the film by heart, but that didn't prevent me from feeling all the emotion of discovery when I read this novel. My heart raced, my tears flowed, shivers ran through my veins. What an adventure, it was amazing.
