This is the second time reading, or to put it more accurately, listening to Rogue One, and it has to be one of my favourite audiobooks. If you don't know, Davis reads it, alongside music and special effects, that really immerse the listener, more so than your average audiobook. However, it isn't just a great audiobook, it's also my favourite story from the Star Wars world, of the ones I've experienced. Jyn's growth as a character is amazing, and the layers built up by different POVs, such as Cassian, and Krennic, to name but a few, create such a complex narrative. I don't think I'll ever get bored of this one, long may the legacy of Rogue One prevail.

What a great start to my month. I'm sure you've seen the film, and know exactly what this is about, though like, The Force Awakens novelisation, it does offer more depth to the story. While the film understandably focuses on Jyn's character, the novelisation offers more depth to the other characters, especially Cassian, who is my favourite. Although I have the kindle version, I ended up just listening to the audiobook which is fantastic, complimenting the action packed story with music and sound effects, defiantly a worthwhile experience. This is probably my favourite Star Wars story, and I will definitely be re-reading it time and time again.

Decent read, worth it; interesting to read it having seen the film and understanding what the intention of certain scenes and lines were. Also completely affirms my love for Cassian.

Rogue One was one of my favorite Star Wars movies and this novelization was even better. The combination of references to events of Catalyst and Rebel Rising, extra scenes to fill in the gaps of the movie, and the supplemental documents between chapters really improves the impact of the story. Even though I have seen the movie a few times I still found myself tearing up as the dominoes started to fall in the last few chapters.

Novelizations are always so fun to read. They always, always offer a little more information, emotion, and tidbits that the movies weren't able to show us. That is, of course, the case with this particular novelization.
I absolutely loved Rogue One. When I saw it, something about the film blew my mind. Maybe it was the fact this was a story simply of rebels. Maybe it was the group of strange, random, and unexpected people coming together for one purpose. Maybe, like all Star Wars films show us, it was the story of hope that got to me. So, when I learned there was a novelization, I wanted to get my hands on it as soon as possible. And this novelization did not fail to make me love the story even more than I already did.
We got a little bit more backstory, emotion, and thoughts from the all the characters I had fallen in love with in the movie. It was all welcome, and at the same time, I wish I had more. What was given in the book, though, was perfect, and it was the right amount. Too much would have deviated from the story. Plus, this leaves it open for, hopefully, more novels on the characters in the future. (It may be bias, but I would love to read novels/stories about Cassian and Bodhi. I just want more backstory).
If you enjoy novelizations, and you enjoyed this movie as much as I did, I would most definitely recommend giving this one a read. It will leave you as emotional as the film did (if not more).
