Alexander Freed describes Jyn's emotions and struggles perfectly, and many scenes that were cut from the film were featured in this book, like the TIE fighter scene in the trailer.
I'm not sure if it's because I had difficulties getting attached to any of the characters (what's the point when I know they're all going ? Or if the writing just didn't carry me along. Or if I'm a bad Star Wars fan.
I still feel like Rogue One was unnecessary. 2.5 stars rounded up.

Not sure how this novel compares to the movie, as I have yet to see it. But was interesting to see the events that led up to Star Wars Episode IV.
I've always been hesitant to read any novelization of a movie. Rogue One, dare I say, is my favorite SW movie and after seeing the reviews, I decided to give this book a go. I was not disappointed. Things (such as characters) were expanded upon, the details were beautiful, and just like watching the movie, I cried at the end, even though I knew what was going to happen.
