What a ride! I’m pretty sure this is the first norse mythology retelling I’ve read and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The story follows Loki and the events that lead to Ragnarok. It’s a bit of a set up book, but it does a great job of keeping you invested. There are some great moments between characters and a captivating plot that had me flying through the book. And it even managed to make me SO upset at the end even though I knew what was going to happen!! I love that a book can make me feel so much even with prior knowledge of the myth.

I loved Loki and Sigyn, and I liked them together. Their relationship is central to the plot, but I wouldn’t say that the development of their romance is the focus. The story is more about what their relationship means and leads to. I thoroughly enjoyed their moments together and they are an iconic couple.

One caveat I’ll make is that there isn’t a ton of world building present. The gods, the worlds, and the magic are not explained in detail, so it would be best to have some previous knowledge of norse mythology before diving into this.
