This YA paranormal romance is book 1 in the Kingdom of the Wicked series. I'm usually not a big fan of fantasy, but I've heard so many good things about this one that I had to give it a try. Know that I did take that into account in my rating. I liked the mystery side of the story. However, I didn't feel the romance much, nor did I like how the story dragged a lot. Stop talking about food already! The FMC was annoying. But now I have to keep going, because, of course I bought the entire trilogy before reading the first book, and I did hear that book 2 was better, so here's to hoping!

Man, this world building and relationship building was top notch. I fell into this world seamlessly and became so obsessed, reading late into the night because each chapter had me in suspense.

I personally never find the first book to fantasy series awe strickening or (Puting it simple) good. And i can not blame the authors, it takes an immense type of skill to execute it. With that said, this book was fine as to first book standards and it just introduces you for whats to come. So maybe try to push through cause trust me the second book makes up for it. (And i heard the last one is  even better!)

This was so slow and could have been way more interesting. There seemed to be so much information missing while simultaneously going overboard on insignificant detail. I hope the next book is better.

This book has genuinely made me feel stupid for not understanding half of what was going on. And I don't think that's on me.

I feel like there was a chunk of story missing. It went from a slow search to sudden love war and betrayal without it ever really building up to it? It was looming far in the future and then it was just slammed into being.
