Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz marries King George III of England, becoming Queen Charlotte, and ushering in an epic love story and transforming high society. This is based on the Netflix tv series of the same name. There is much different from the show, lots of the same scenes and word for word dialogue. However, this has internal dialogues of characters such as Queen Charlotte, King George, Lady Danbury and Brimsley and you get to learn more about them than you do in the show. Though, some subplots from the tv show that I liked are left out, this book is really enjoyable.
This was written well. The changes in perspectives was such a fun way to see all of the different perspectives of all of the characters. I felt very invested in each of the characters and really wanted to see them all get their happy endings.
It's too bad the writing in this isn't better, because the characters are beautifully sketched and the story has more depth than one might expect. However, a lot of the dialogue is clearly lifted directly from the show, and the writing isn't exactly what I would consider literary. All told, however, an engaging read, as long as you're not looking for anything in the realm of historical accuracy.
DNF I didn't plan to read the TV show I just watched...
emotional
medium-paced
I know this is not historically accurate, but it is such a sweet story with strong, interesting characters and a far better plot than many of the other Bridgerton books (and I enjoy those books, too!).

That is all that will be said.

This book genuinely still makes me want to give The Duke And I four stars because this was good. Start to finish.
The history of it, with such modern day was beautifully orchestrated. Very very very much enjoyed this
