I liked it, but it was exactly the same as the show... almost like reading a script in novel form. There wasn't really any extra insight or inner emotion added. I wonder if I would have gotten more into it if I had read this book first and watched the show after, instead of reading it directly after watching the show. It's a lovely story though, and I enjoyed reading it. I was just hoping for a little more... something.

4.5 stars. Absolutely incredible. It is incomparable to the show. To be able to know George from the beginning was so much better than never truly knowing him till the end. To anyone that has seen the show I highly recommend reading this for an entirely new perspective of the characters.
even though this was literally the show put on to paper, i felt like i could really understand the characters more, hearing their thoughts and concerns. it was such an enjoyable, emotional read. and now i am ready to re-watch this series

This is one of those rare cases where the movie is better than the book.
I wish I had read this before watching the show but I found out about the book half way through the show, and was I going to stop watching? No. So, I read it after watching and it is very similar, but without the present day Bridgerton part of the story.
I really enjoyed both of George and Brimsley’s perspectives. I thought it brought more insight to the story with the book.
I know some people don’t like that JQ changed the setting and now there are people of color characters in power when that wasn’t the case- but, I don’t CARE. I liked the (fake) history of Bridgerton and I so wish it was real.
