So you've got brother's best friend and narrated by Teddy Hamilton?? Sounds great, right?....
I'm sorry but, WHAT THE F--- WAS THIS??

The FMC (Ari) was so INSUFFERABLE, clueless, and insecure. I literally couldn't handle it.

"I’ve never had truly fulfilling sex. I’ve never even orgasmed with a man, but that’s probably got more to do with me than them… I’m not the type of woman that’d turn anyone on, that’d make someone want to put effort into my pleasure."

Yet people are hitting on her left and right?? Ok...

Her insecurities crippled her with every decision and desire she had. I mean i get it - it's part of the plot and needed for the conflict of the story. But Jesus. It was just too much.

And then the MMC, Gray, finds out (spoiler now so be warned) he was the product of rape and that's why he was abandoned at a church as a baby and never knew his real parents. After finding out how awful his birth father was, he spirals into thinking he's this awful, evil guy and pushes Ari away.
I couldn't help but roll my eyes at all his internal thoughts at this point.

And then the airport thing??

Girl, idky I even stuck it out to the end. I'm sorry to be so harsh, but this was a no for me dawg.

This is my second time reading a book from this author and I enjoyed it. The Characters were interesting and fun. I loved the forbidden aspect of the romance. What I didn't like was the last few chapters.

One thing I liked was that the main male mc did mention therapy and I loved that at least we as readers know that they will be okay because they will try to make it work and go to therapy.

I had high hopes for this book, but unfortunately, it didn't live up to my expectations. The storyline felt disjointed, with too many jumps that left me feeling frustrated. Noah's nonchalant reaction to his sister dating his best friend was a missed opportunity for drama. Aria's jealousy over Gray's attention toward Nyx, even though she is Nyx herself, grated on my nerves due to her insecurity. The subplot involving Gray's parents was both dull and saddening, leaving me feeling disappointed and angry.

I was initially intrigued by the promise of a hacker romance and forbidden love, but I quickly found myself let down. The story lacked the drama I was hoping for, with the real conflict emerging when Gray discovers the traumatic truth about his parentage. While I empathize with Gray's mother's perspective, her rudeness was unnecessary and added to my frustration with the storyline.

Love!

Love a good brother’s best friend trope! The whole idea behind nemesis was amazing as well and added a nice little bonus to the book! The characters and story line were very easy to follow and read along with. The ending was a little off to me which held me back from a 5 star rating BUT overall amazing book!
