I love this story—the book and the movie. I also love the length of this book, as well as the writing and the very concise storytelling.

Charming. The movie had some added richness and good music, but the book is still great and I may purchase a hard copy to read with my kids.

Really enjoyed this book it was so cute to read. The book also matches the movie so well. I really enjoyed Babe whilst growing up and this book just made me love Babe even more. The little illustrations in this book were so cute and drawn so well. My favourite line is that will do Pig. Xxx

I've wanted to read this for a long time and finally did. I was expecting a picture book/early reader book, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that it's of a slightly more advanced reading level. A very enjoyable read with sweet, gentle humor.

It has been a long time since I have seen the movie, so I forgot the story. Another quick read that the girls kept asking for more. Such a sweet story about a pig who has big dreams and likes to use his manners!

Oh, it was delightful to read this aloud. Bart read quite a bit of it and loved it also.

Cute kids story about overcoming stereotypes and discrimination.

One of the rare instances where the movie is better than the book. I listened to it with my two daughters on a day trip in the car, otherwise I would have never finished it.

If you do decide to read it to your kids, get ready for lines like, "the Collie bitch was pleased to see Babe growing up so strong. And "the bitch told the pig that the farmer was pleased with his progress."

After the 2nd reference to this term, and after laughing out loud at the surprise of it, I had to tell my 10-year old that the term was not acceptable to use for humans - and was especially derogatory for women. When I went to discuss it further with her, she just rolled her eyes at me and said, "I know, Dad, I know, jeeez." After the 4th reference in the book, and with me telling her again that this was not appropriate for humans, she was completely irritated! It was actually pretty funny and was perhaps the most fun and excitement we got from the entire experience.
