Jacob was really, really annoying in this book. Boy, just take a hint. (Charlie too… come on, just respect your daughters wishes, it’s not that hard)
Bella was as annoying as in the other books, so no change there.
Edward was perfect as always, he‘s just everything.
The book was also really long, it felt like being edged for nothing, because the ending was also not what it was hyped up to be.

Just like the other books in this series, this is no masterpiece, but I could not put it down. This series is definitely my guilty pleasure.
Now, my rambly thoughts:
I don't know why this didn’t hit the same way the first time I read this, but rereading this series, I loathe Jacob in this book. Both of his kiss scenes with Bella made me so uncomfortable. First, he forced a kiss on her when she was pushing him away. Then the second kiss, he had to threaten to kill himself for her to kiss him. I also hate the love triangle, and Bella for being so selfish with Jacob and trying so hard to keep him in her life when she knew she was gonna choose Edward the entire time. Meanwhile, she was hurting them both.
When Edward is hurt, I'm hurt :(
This book has that feel where you're angry with every character and you hate the decisions that they're making, but lets be real, if you've read this far into the series, you're already attached to everyone and there's no going back now. Like I'm angry and I hate this, but I'm having a good time.. ya know?
Also, I just wanna say I love the entire Cullen family with my whole heart. They really are one of my favorite fictional families.

I'm reliving my early teenage years and having such a grand time.
Pretty much all of the critiques for this book series are very valid, it is in essence a few hundred pages of cringy fanfiction level love triangle horse shit. However, this doesn't stop me from enjoying the hell out of reading them. I reject the idea of these books being 'guilty pleasures', where is the guilt in enjoying a fast paced, engaging paragon of 2010s pop culture.
This book is maybe a little more patchy than the first two, I can't say that I find the will they won't they romance plot lines. Regardless, just because a book is bad doesn't mean I can't enjoy it!

The lore and back story dropped make this better than the rest (the supporting characters are the best) but I could not STAND the love triangle near the end. Jacob force kissing Bella, then threatening to kill himself, Bella wanting both of them to be at her beck and call, even Edward being manipulative - I hate them aaaaaalllll but the plot is so compelling and it's like watching a train wreck I can't look away (I hate Wurthering Heights I can't believe comparisons were made no wonder the romance sucks)
