I was absolutely enthralled by this audiobook. I usually listen to audiobooks on 1.2x speed, or usually can’t listen to themwhile I drive, but I was listening to this on my daily commute at 1x speed. The writing is conversational (almost in a lighthearted sense) but there are also some very meaningful observations phrased very beautifully throughout the book.

There are some heavy topics covered in this book that are covered in quite a bit of detail, but Paris does break them up with lighter anecdotes. The imperfectly chronological storytelling feels very true to Paris’s public persona of being a person who does not take themselves too seriously.

This book invoked very strong emotional responses for me throughout. I felt a lot of anger (and found myself cursing to myself in the car while listening), sadness, relief, and happiness at different parts of the book, very much in the sense that you are taking an emotional journey alongside Paris.

Paris Hilton is not a perfect person, nor does she pretend to me. She owns her mistakes and acknowledges that there are many things she wishes she had done differently. She’s also been through some incredibly traumatic events, and piled on upon by the media (and society at large) in the way so many famous young women are. I came away from this respecting how incredibly empathetic Paris is, how smart she is (and such an astute business woman), and how resilient she is.

Honest and heart wrenching! Such respect for this privileged white girl my age, for all that she got at birth she struggled like I never did for a sane mind and a beautiful life, and she’s putting herself out there to be judged and loved, and to help others. Respect, a lot of it!!! Paris gained a new fan in me!

I am SHOOK at Paris Hilton’s story. I had no idea the things she had been through. This was raw, emotional, and SO important. The way she delivered this on audiobook sucked me in, would def recommend this one! Thank you Paris for sharing your story!!
