Go Back, All Of You

It seemed like every chapter someone was being raped, dying, or some other crisis. I get that it probably would be boring without the excessive drama, but it got to be a bit much. Just everyone head for the rocks and go to the 1970’s! It’s much safer there.

This took me a bit longer to get through. I felt I had to push myself the first two thirds of the way through before it really picked up. It wasn't bad just a lot of extra fluff. Although some mysteries have been solved and others are let with you still scratching your head. Into the next!

This book might very well overthrow the first book as my favourite. The characters grow further, from the amusing moments with wee Jem and Roger still trying to learn how to provide for his family and Fergus' struggle also with doing so.

This novel in particular is rife with scandal of the highest order. The beginning of a new paper. The deceit of a character and the final fall of a true villain I found myself flipping page by page willing the characters to make it through the book, to make it together and perhaps one day have a happily ever after.

The clear, present historical research is still here and there's no complaints here from me about that. There was some moments where I did wish to rush ahead but only because I can't get enough of these books. In some ways I can't believe I ever took this long to pick them up. But now that I have, I don't think I'll rest till I'm caught up.

Also, I have never been so glad to see two characters die as I was to see the end of Bonnett and Malva. Their treacherous natures were just a little too much for me.

not as good as the first 3

Made me question history (and my poor history loving husband) in ways I've never thought before. Fascinating theories. I'd love to know her research.
The story moved from page 1 until the last page, when normally I find myself having to reaquaint myself to the characters and story line at the beginning of the Outlander books.

Excellent addition to the series. I did not expect anything that happened. It kept me on the edge of the seat throughout the entire book. I can't wait to read the next and I wish the series would never end. What am I going to do when I read the last book? I'll be devastated and have to read them all over again!
adventurous emotional slow-paced

I really liked some parts of it, but I really could have done without all the kidnapping. I mean, really, it was excessive. But there were some very sweet and emotional parts. Also some crazy plot twists (which I knew were coming because I can’t keep myself off of wikia).
