Since I loved Tillie Walden's "On a Sunbeam", I wanted to read more from her. "Clementine" sits right at the intersection of zombie apocalypse, snowy survival horror, and angsty teenagers trying their best.

Once again, Walden shows her talent of creating dense atmospheres and life-like, likeable characters.
Unfortunately, I didn't find it quite so easy to follow the plot, especially the show-down. It might have something to do with the pretty dynamic, grey-scale art style that is great at conveying emotion, but not so great at getting a clear picture of a scene across. That way the whole novel stayed at a distance for me. I don't know if I will read the following issues, but maybe the entire story will come together once the different parts speak to each other!

Nevertheless, a nice vibes-over-plot graphic novel for survival enthusiasts - no knowledge about the Walking Dead universe needed!

The graphics are beautiful, not surprising from Tillie Walden, however it was not as interesting to me as On A Sunbeam. Maybe it was just the subject of the book I’m not quite as into, although the story is told really nicely, but I wasn’t as motivated to keep reading.
