I’m not sure this series is working for me. I found it very hard to connect with the Mc’s.
In this story, it’s almost like nothing actually happens in between. The beginning and ending are worth the while, but everything was not good.

This was in my opinion another great E. Davies book. It had all the right story pieces and the story evolved nicely and progressed the overall Hart's Bay story line. I however didn't connect with the characters as much as I expected to. And that is down to me and not down to anything about the book itself. It was fabulous and all I expected for the second book in this series. I just wasn't in the right head space to read this particularly story at this particular time. It hasn't dimmed my love of the series or Ed's writing. I am so looking forward to more from this series. I was just in a book loving funk.

It was difficult to gauge where the relationship would go early in the novel because both characters were holding back so much, denying the attraction and themselves. So it was a slow burn rather than the full blooming passion experienced in the first book in the series. Overall, a cute romance for two men who finally decided to be true to themselves and embrace happiness.

I was so glad to finally figure out what the deal was with Rain! He had me so curious in the last book. I loved the direction this book took. The Hart family has been divided for years. We saw Finn push back a little in book 1 with Rain coming to his aid. In this book, Rain pushed back even harder and found family again in Finn and his side of the Hart clan. I enjoyed watching Rain and Colt find each other and break down the walls they had around themselves.

I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC provided by the author

I liked the romance, and I enjoyed the characters, particularly Colt's vulnerable side. The obstacle was a bit predictable, you know from the beginning that Colt's lies will be a problem further into the story. But it was well done, and I liked the way they both managed to fix it.

I enjoyed watching Rain finding his strength and being able to face his family, too. I liked the small-town setting and the friendship between the people there. And I'm intrigued by the family's feud :P

Greg Boudreaux did a good job with the narration :)

Excellent addition to the series. This gave us Rain's story so a different take on the Harts Bay family split. But as we saw in the first book Rain was already coming around to the 'other' Harts POV. Believable conflict and dealt with adultly without any drawn out and unnecessary split.

Great narrator.

This is classic Ed Davies, it has an almost perfect mixture of sweet and spicy.

I've not gone for full marks in my rating only because, for me anyways, I found I was wishing Colt was just a little bit older so that I could fully embrace the whole sexual domination aspect.

That's not to say that there is a need for an age limit to know what you want in the bedroom, or on the sofa
