Each year I read this book, I love a little more. There is something about know true facts about the magic of Christmas that draws you closer. There is a reason for the season for each person, and some of those reasons may differ. I've enjoyed this book. I look forward to reading it next year!!

How did a young boy become what the world knows as Santa Claus? How did he meet all the people that help him to create, make and deliver the toy and joys every year? How did some of the famous people of history really die or disappear?
This is the tale of all those things and more. From a boy Nicholas was one to see the need around him and give. He has lived through many centuries, seen wars and a new land become a nation. This story tells how all the traditions we know about Santa came into being. How he ended up at the North Pole, where the reindeer came from, how his red and white cloths became his trademark and how his sleigh flies.
There are many people in history that Santa met such as Arthur, Ben Franklin, Leonardo Da Vinci, Attila the Hun, Columbus and more. What did Santa learn from these people and how did they help him through the years.

What a great story! A wonderful combining of the Christian story of Christmas and the history of Santa presented as Santa's autobiography. A bit outrageous at times but still a good read especially in the months leading up to the Christmas season.

Interesting facts and myths. If only Santa was really real. I guess he is in the heart of young children.

This was an awesome retelling of an old legend, that itself has probably been the subject of many different tales. Guinn's imaginative Autobiography of Santa Claus is an outstanding exemplar of the genre. And the fanciful way he brings in real historical figures and events is purely genius! I thoroughly enjoyed Guinn's work, and was touched by the mild way in which he taught some simple but important lessons about humanity along the way.

I had read this book previously, but my wife had not. On a long road trip to visit family, after finishing one audiobook, she chose this one to listen to next. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. The narrator, John Mayer, was outstanding.

For everyone's reference up front, I don't really enjoy cutesy Christmas books (except A Christmas Carol). The sap level it's too high, my eye rolls can't be contained, and I don't like the style.
Now this review will make sense to everyone.
Review: see above.

One of the best books I've read in a long time. Brought back the spirit of Christmas for me! I will for sure be handing this to my children when they start doubting. Very well done.
