2.5 stars, can't justify rounding it to 3. It was okay, but you figure out who was responsible for it all way too easily.

I'm kinda pissed that they buried the truth in the end about Owen's involvement. But I guess I understand. Though how hypocritical is it for them to cover up after Owen when they were mad at Brandon's dad for doing the same thing for his son? Owen is twelve, Brandon was thirteen. I don't like Brandon because he's a dick and almost assaulted Phoebe. But this gives Owen the same life lesson that Brandon got. That actions don't have consequences. Or maybe he won't become like Brandon. Maybe Owen truly felt remorse in the end.

This book also used the same 'I know you cheated and I'll pretend nothing happened and get revenge on you' plot device from book one. But the book wasn't too slow paced, like the other books from the author and I wasn't bored. I know I shouldn't have but the truth or dare was fun. (even though it got shitty real quick for the characters) I'm glad I finally read it after sitting on it for a year after reading book one.

Listened to the version read by Karissa Vacker and more. Loved the cast. Story was fun with a bunch of different twists and turns. Can't wait to read the next one!

The first thing I want to mention is I appreciate that this book wasn't an exact copy of the first book. It had a couple similarities, and the original Bayview Four made appearances which I was happy about. It was a page turner as well, and had a unique plot that kept me guessing. The only thing I'm concerned about is if we will get any hints or elaborations concerning that absolute bomb of a detail that was revealed on the very last page of the book, in the next book??? I am very curious about what Emma and Phoebe will choose to do and what will happen.

So I just finished this book and it's 4 am , yes I couldn't sleep before finishing it.
Well I'm not in shock I kind of suspected it at some point ,that's what happens when you read a lot of thrillers, you imagine a lot of endings hhhh. Well no spoilers .
This sequel is really good , I loved the writing, the characters , the story and details , I just loved it and enjoyed it very much .
The story takes place in the same city as "one of us is lying", with the characters coming back but just as secondary ones , the main characters if this one are Maeve (bronwyn's little sister),knox and phoebe.
It's revenge all over again hunting this place , this time it's different ,there is no blog, but a game, "truth or dare ", I feel like if I say one more thing about the story I will be ruining it .so I will stop and finish by saying that it was a good read that I recommend ,there was a point in part 1 where my heart stopped and I started shaking, because yes I'm a crazy person and I live with the characters that I feel the same pain they feel

I really enjoy McManus’ writing but each time there is something stopping me from rating it much higher. I usually guess the endings but this time I went in blind. One of us is next has moved on from the ‘4’ and is a copycat psychopath exacting revenge. But revenge goes wrong and ultimately ‘those meddling kids’ have everything to do with it. I enjoyed it but I don’t think I would read it again.
