Was on track to be a 5-star read until the very inaccurate portrayal of speech pathology. Also noted several discrepancies -- for example, main character would describe how difficult it was to tell if people were smiling beneath their masks, but then stated someone had a "cute tooth gap" between their front teeth when they smiled.

DID NOT FINISH

It’s to soon to read about the covid pandemic for me
reflective medium-paced

I stopped buying Jodi Picoult’s books because they were disappointing. This book was a complete turn around. It was fast paced with enough of the twists a reader comes to expect in a Picoult book. Read the authors note at the end-enlightening.

I usually really enjoy Jodi Picoult's books because they are so realistic.........even though the events that occur in this book revolve around the outbreak of Covid-19 (which is very realistic!), there were many "fantastical" events that I just couldn't wrap my head around.

For that reason, I rated 4 out of 5 stars for this particular book.
