It took me a little bit to get into this book. Once I re-oriented around the idea that this is one long answer to the question “where are you from?” it began to make more sense to me and hold my attention. I enjoyed learning about all the different cultures that have influenced the author’s upbringing and especially the self-mythology she creates. That being said I did sometimes get lost in all the information being conveyed (maybe that’s because I was listening to the audiobook).
