This was a fantastic read about how some of the most famous people in history have died. I enjoyed this book and wished there were more people featured. The main takeaway from this book is that medical science has come so far. My favorite people that I learned about was was Garfield, Beethoven, and George Washington.

This book was so much fun! It's simultaneously breezy and gross, and I think it will be embraced with glee by young teens. There's plenty of fabulously arcane information mixed in with the obligatory exploding corpses, blistering plasters, lead poisoning and leeches. Covers lots of famous deaders, from Cleopatra to Marie Curie, from Caesar to President Garfield. Recommended!

What a fabulously disgusting but factual book! I don't think I'll ever think of Napoleon or Mozart the same way. And I had no idea that poor Darwin's body had been spread out so much! The medical vocabulary was explained in text or in eye-catching fact pages after each narrative, so it's appropriate for middle grades and above, I think.

Such a great book for a reluctant reader and boys. This is definitely going on school visits with me this spring.

Wow! It was so greusome yet educational AND fun! All I can say is: poor Beethoven. His death was the worst! As a person who rarely reads or enjoys nonfiction, this really grabbed my attention and kept it!
