i can’t decide how i feel about this book. i like the characters well enough - ara’s spark when she shoved cherry’s head down the toilet bowl, all of kyuri’s chapters and miho’s revenge plot are definitely some of the more interesting stuff happening here. i thought wonna’s chapters were a waste of time bc she didn’t really contribute much to the overall storyline? why was she even included?
i did feel that the author wanted to touch on many different themes in the book: sexism, classism and cosmetic surgery being some of them. however, it felt like too little too much because the book is only so thick that a message is only arbitrarily touched upon before moving on to the next. it would have been better to pick a few key ideas and work more thoroughly on them.
that said, i quite liked the flow of the writing and i like that the characters are interesting enough to make this a worthwhile read. would definitely look out for more from this author!!

The best way to describe this book is it's just a good book. These are the stories of four Korean women each navigating some "stuff' in their world. There is some interaction in the stories, and it's also about them each finding their own way. It's lots of feels with captivating storytelling throughout.
